Most cookies are made and baked the same day. Ours aren't. Every batch starts Saturday night — the dough is mixed by hand and chilled overnight, giving the butter and flour time to combine into something properly chewy. Something you can't rush.

For years I made cookies for the people I love. Friends, family, colleagues, and anyone who'd appreciate them.
I put everything into getting them right. The perfect chew. Enough chocolate, but not too much. Chunky, but not heavy. And never, not once, a cheap ingredient.
Then I messed up a batch and accidentally made the best cookies I'd ever tasted.
I knew they were good when they started disappearing. Even the burnt ones got stolen.
Hiding spots became a necessity.
It wasn't until I moved overseas and my friends - and my very snotty-nosed brothers - started offering to pay me to post cookies to them, that I had my moment. If people who'd always gotten them for free wanted to buy them... maybe Auckland would too.
And boy, did you show up.
In 2022, Urban List voted Stolen Cookies into their Top 10 Best Cookies in Auckland. I may have fainted.
We're back. Batches are small - on purpose, because the quality is everything. These are genuinely the best cookies I've ever made, and I want to keep it that way.
